This two-day course will help students refine their data and maps after their fieldwork, focusing on solving challenges and deepening their geological understanding of their mapping area.
This two-day course is designed to prepare students for their mapping dissertation, equipping them with essential tools for fieldwork and the resources needed to excel in both the development and understanding of their project.
Students will learn how to set up their own project in QGIS and how to collect data in the field using QFIELD. Students will learn how to integrate their field observation with digital processes.
The course will be structured as in the form of tutorials and will require access to computers and a mobile device (tablet or smartphone). All the software products mentioned in our QGIS section are open-source and free to everyone.
After returning from their fieldwork, this two-day course will guide students in compiling, analysing, and refining their data and maps. A key focus of the session will be equipping them with the skills to solve unique challenges, enhancing their geological understanding of the mapping area.
