(Q)GIS

Powerful and open source

What is (Q)GIS

GIS (Geographic Information System) is a technology that is used to create, manage, analyse, and map all types of geospatial data. GIS connects data to a map, integrating location data. QGIS, or QuantumGIS, is a free, open-source software that is equal in virtually all regards to ESRIs ArcGIS.

Why we like QGIS

We love QGIS for its cost-effectiveness, flexibility, and powerful features. As an open-source platform, QGIS eliminates expensive licensing fees and offers extensive customization options through plugins and scripting. Its active global community ensures continuous updates and support, while its compatibility with various data formats ensures smooth integration with existing workflows.

QGIS also provides full transparency and control, empowering us to tailor the software to our specific needs. In short, QGIS delivers top-tier GIS capabilities without the high costs, making it our go-to choice for mapping and spatial analysis.

Benefits of using QGIS to you

Mobile QGIS (QFIELD)

QFIELD is a third-party free and open source mobile application for QGIS that allows you to gather, edit and sync data anywhere. This takes your QGIS experience out right into the field, so you can ditch your field notebook.

The software, like QGIS, is regularly updated to introduce new features and ensure continuity with your workflow.

QFIELD can be run in remote locations even if you have no signal and can then either be synced manually or via the cloud.

Although other apps, like Mergin Maps and Locus GIS, work well with QGIS, these will still require some form of financial contribution to be fully functional.
